She was born in December, in 1993 It was a special day,
because…she was born on Christmas Eve

Before too long she was jumpin’ around, clapping her hands and singing her songs

She sang with all her heart and might; her little hands wrapped the microphone tight

As she got older the songs would change It never mattered the vocal range

It seemed almost every day, when she was home her mom would say…

I entered her in a talent show, she sang and played, I got the video
Before she played she told everyone, this is dedicated to my dad… and she won

Never seemed scared in front of a crowd. And every time she made me proud

Lots of folks would come up to me, and say that kid is amazing…

I called her up one day, said I had a song to play
It’s a song you’ve never heard, its ok dad, just say the word and I’ll sing

She listened twice and I hit record, she sang it just right, word for word
Everyone who hears that song says she sings like an angel….

It’s a strange feeling when they leave the nest; you did everything you could, did you do your best? But I know now she’ll be just fine, God has shown me many times

She’s beautiful and grown up now, and it’s so amazing how… I can close my eyes and see, and my heart can hear her voice, when she sings, when she sings…
