about
America in 2014 - Not the country I grew up in. It is almost unrecognizable from what it used to be... I love my country and am so saddened by what is happening. And that is why I wrote this song. As we celebrate the 4th of July in 2014, it seems that America is bordering on tyranny; and the social fabric of what made us a strong and free nation is being ripped to shreds... but there is only one answer, and that is the message of my song. There is a video I put together here: youtu.be/HOgGELsbC10
lyrics
MY AMERICA
I was born in the USA
Back then things seemed to be ok
But now so many things have changed
Almost like its pre arranged
America’s train is off the track
My country’s gone and I want it back
All the politicians in DC
Are harassing and abusing you and me
It may already be too late
I think we’re living in a police state
Better be careful of what you say
They’re listening to you at the NSA
You used to be so strong and free
Now you’re blind and cannot see
This is my America
Used to be so proud of ya
This is my America
How could you fall so far
Nine guys in robes hold a vote and say
Let’s take away they’re right to pray
They turn around and then decide
It’s ok to take the life of your unborn child
In your face debauchery,
Violence and pornography
They don’t teach our kids the golden rule
But they might get shot in a public school
I always believed my whole life
That marriage is between a man and wife
If we turn our back on morality
It’s game, set, match - why can’t you see?
You used to be so strong and free
Now you’re blind and cannot see
This is my America
Used to be so proud of ya
This is my America
How could you fall so far
Black is white, left is right, day is night, wrong is right.
Up is down, the world goes round. The ending comes with a deafening sound
There is time for us I say, just humble ourselves and pray. And turn from our evil ways
God will forgive and heal our land. What part don’t you understand?
This is my America
Used to be so proud of ya
This is my America
How could you fall so far
This is my America
Used to be so proud of ya
This is my America
How could you fall so far
